Are wondering if it's time to review your life? Fed up waiting for things to change? Do you ever give yourself the space and time you deserve? Counselling could be helpful for you.
I am a person-centred counsellor which means that the time we spend together will be all about you. We will work together at a pace that suits you, covering your concerns and issues.
You may be considering counselling because you are in some way dissatisfied with your life. You may be suffering from a major life upset, be in a difficult place facing difficult decisions, be depressed and anxious, have feelings of sadness or low self worth. These are just a few of the things which counselling may help you with.
The aim of counselling is to help you to cope with crises, improve your relationships, or develop better ways of living.
Simply put, you can explore ways of improving how you are feeling at the moment. Or work towards changes that you feel you want to make in your life but can't as something is getting in the way of you doing that.
I can provide a regular time and space for you to talk about your troubles and explore difficult feelings in a safe place that is private and confidential.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a BA in Social Studies and a Diploma in Counselling.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy where I am bound by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. (www.bacp.co.uk)
Areas of counselling I deal with
- Low self-confidence
- Low self-esteem
- Passive aggressive behaviour
- Personality disorders
I believe it is important that you feel comfortable with me and that there is a good match between us. So I offer new clients their first session at £15.
Thereafter my charge is £30 although I am always happy to discuss a reduction where clients find themselves in difficulty financially.
Our sessions will be 50 minutes in length and held once a week initially.
I can offer appointments at a time to suit you. Usually you can be seen within 5 days of contacting me.
My practice is in Silverdale which is mid way between Kendal and Lancaster. I have a comfortable and private room where I provide a safe and calm setting where we can work together. There is wheelchair access and parking is available.
In certain circumstances home visits can be arranged.
