About Sue

Sue is an experienced therapist, originally trained in Imago Relationship Couples Therapist and has many years expertise in helping people find the tools they need to deal with their unique set of challenges.

She works with couples as well as individuals and enjoys the balance in helping both types of clients. She is involved in presenting workshops, trainings and public speaking and her ongoing dedication to learning is reflected in participating in other international clinical trainings and reading extensively.

Her husband, Brett, is a certified Business and Executive Coach and an Imago Educator. Together they have 7 children and several grandchildren and have made their home in England since 2002.

Individual counselling

Counselling is an act of courage in which you admit you don't have all the answers you would like and are open minded enough to find a safe place to do some work in finding your answers! Wether its anger management, depression, anxiety or issues of low self esteem, in the safe place you create with me, you will find yourself becoming more aware of the skills and wisdom you already have, as well as learning some new ways of thinking and quite a few new skills.

How does it work?

Through a mixture of psycho-education, practical exercises and an expanding self-awareness, you will find yourself on an exciting learning experience that will open your eyes to many more choices you have in life. This exploration helps you to move from reacting to life as you experience it to consciously choosing how you want to be in any situation.I invite people to view the therapy as an integrated package with a booster weekend in upskilling your relationship skills. This package of therapy and workshop gives the best, most cost and time-effective results.

What will I learn?

  • How to use self-awareness to increase the choices you have in your life.
  • How to communicate in safe and effective ways.
  • How to look at relationships from a new, more empowering perspective.
  • How to maintain healthy emotions and outlooks.
  • How to empower yourself to reach towards your potential.

Couple Counselling

Couples sometimes get 'stuck' in their relationship and experience increased conflict and growing disconnection. Through a process of Psycho-education and upskilling, couples begin to re-engage with each other and work out new ways of being in the relationship. Increased levels of safety and connection can rapidly improve the experience of the relationship, giving the Couple new hope. The initial session is a minimum of two hours long and afterwards the couple choose how often and how long they would like to work ,the only restriction being a minimum time of 1.5 hrs per session. For couples coming from afar, Intensives (sessions lasting between 3-7 hours) are often the most effective way to work.

Couple Quest

This is a two day, one-on-one Intensive for couples who are :

*At a decision point - do we part or stay together?

*Experiencing or recovering from a crisis such as an affair

*Have realised that their relationship is in desperate need of a new direction.

Supervision

I offer supervision to coaches and therapists that honours the many different ways of working that bring such a richness to our profession. My own style of working is in the relational paradigm that blends the many trainings and experience of my own development. My vision is to support the unique strengths and abilities of professionals and to be the best resource possible for them to grow into all they would like to be.

More Information

My home-office provides a comfortable, discreet space where I work with couples and individuals helping them through a blend of listening, psychoeducation and visuals.
As an experienced couple counsellor, I am an expert in coaching couples in the art of hearing each other empathetically and helping them re-connect emotionally with each other. I have seen how giving the couple some new skills gives them the tools to carry on these important conversations outside of their time with me and they report back how empowering that is for them.
I tailor each meeting to the unique needs of the person or couple and my clients seem to find my warm, personal style effective and comfortable

Together with my husband, we present relationship trainings and workshops in core relationship skills in England, Europe and Africa .I am passionate about the work I do and continue to develop my skills and understanding as part of my vision to help others with skills I have tested in the laboratory of my own relationships.
