About me
Are you struggling with life at the moment and feel that you would you like some help? Are you suffering with anxiety, depression, low self esteem, panic attacks or grief? Are you inundated with intrusive thoughts and finding everything overwhelming? Would you like to talk things over with someone? Someone who can listen without judging, who can be completely neutral and help you to make your life a little better?

I began my own journey with counselling after understanding that I couldn't always talk to family or friends about my problems. Starting to realise that looking after myself was important allowed me to see that I could also enable others to do the same.
I can provide counselling on a one to one basis which is unique to your individual requirements. Together, we can focus on your needs and work towards improving life for you. I may challenge the way you look at certain things and encourage you to see life in a different way, which may be difficult at times. Counselling is not always an easy option but the personal benefits can be life changing.
I am an integrative counsellor, which means that I can work in a variety of ways to suit each individual person. I like to encourage people to explore their issues and work towards a better understanding of themselves and the world around them. I like to create a sense of calm and safety within the counselling room to give you the ability to focus on whatever you need to work on.
I qualified as a counsellor in July 2013 having taken my Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, then went on to complete a BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling. Additionally, I now have a Diploma in Supervision and in Couples Counselling (Marriage Guidance).
As well as my private practice, I worked as a Project Manager for Action East Devon. This is a charitable organisation which provides help and support services for vulnerable people. I ran their Counselling Service until it had to close becasue of the C
Ovid restrictions and then worked as a Wellbeing Manager for them until September 2021. I now provide Supervision for their staff.
I also provide counselling for two EAP's (Employee Assistance Programmes) to many of the various employers that they provide services for.
I am a fully insured registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and abide by their ethical framework. The BACP Register is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care to provide extra assurance for clients; for more information about the BACP register please visit http://www.bacpregister.org.uk/.
Training, qualifications & experience
I worked as a voluntary counsellor for Cruse Bereavement for four years and this has involved seeing clients who have experienced loss and bereavement in some way. Every person experiences grief in an individual way and I have gained a wealth of understanding from my work with these clients. I have also counselled people who are working as carers and this has involved working with depression, anxiety and low self-esteem issues.
I have experience of working in several different environments including management, administration, training and customer service. I am able to draw on all of my life experiences to help me recognise and understand what you are trying to achieve through the counselling process. I am very down to earth and honest in my work and believe that the relationship we build is paramount to what we can achieve.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
