Profile

I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor who offers a safe, confidential, non judgmental and friendly counselling service for individuals and couples in the Chester area.

I practice from a person centred approach but use a blend of techniques where appropriate such as cognitive behavioural therapy, transactional analysis and narrative therapy. Each person is an individual and therefore my approach is tailored to individual needs. Typically clients require 6 to 12 sessions although I do offer ongoing open ended counselling if this is more appropriate for the individual concerned.

Problems can sometimes seem overwhelming and it is often difficult to see a way forward. Counselling can be a powerful and effective way to enable you to make changes in your life by giving you time to reflect and become more aware of the issues as well the options and choices you have.

As a counsellor I listen without judging, reflect back to you what I hear and help you examine the issues you face and make sense of how you are currently feeling.

The pressures of daily life, work, relationships, loss of loved ones can leave the mind tangled and knotted so that we can't see a way forward. As your counsellor my role is to help you untangle and make sense of what is going on; to help put things into perspective ; to allow you to see you have choices and to help give you the confidence to make changes for the better. You have a choice about how you live and experience life!

I am a member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I adhere to their code of ethics.

Please feel free to e mail or call me if you have any queries.
