Profile
I provide psychotherapy and counselling to individuals and to couples who may be facing challenging or searching questions about themselves, their lives or their relationship.
Living is a constant process of growth and change. Living also presents us with challenges that can have deep emotional and psychological impact, and it is in the process of tackling those challenges that the greatest potential for our growth lies.
In difficult times, many of us want to turn to someone else who can listen sympathetically, help us digest what can be painful feelings and experiences, and accompany us through the process of personal change. Many people turn to counselling and psychotherapy to support them through difficult periods: whether issues relate to experiences in the here-and-now, or to older traumas from the past. I commonly see people who are suffering from anxiety, inexplicable fear, depression, relationship or sexual difficulties, associated with earlier traumas or family patterns.
My own experience has taught me how enriching psychotherapy can be. If you, or you and your partner, need someone to turn to at this point, I hope to offer you a compassionate and thoughtful presence to help you through.
I am a fully-accredited, UKCP-registered psychotherapist with over twenty years of practice experience. Having trained separately in Gestalt therapy, and later in the psycho-dynamic school of Group Analysis, I now practise as an integrative psychotherapist. I am based at a holistic health centre in central Edinburgh, which provides a nourishing environment for our work.
