Hello and welcome.
- For many of us deciding we need help to manage our feelings is a big decision and it requires a prompt response.
I'm Sue, a Registered BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and a Supervisor.
I have 18yrs experience working with clients in NHS, University, and Private settings and also provide therapy to clients of Employee Assistance Programmes and Insurance Companies.
Sometimes people know the cause of their distress, at other times they are at a loss to know why they feel as they do or why the familiar feelings return again and again.
People tire of wearing a mask to the world.
- Seeking counselling can help you gain clarity and healing, restore control and self-confidence.
You have already begun that process by doing this search. I would be pleased to help you to continue.
Clients who contact me for therapy are usually troubled by:
Anxiety, Abuse, Anger, Bereavement, Depression, Relationship/family problems, Redundancy, Retirement, past or recent Trauma (past or recent),Low Self -esteem, Work - related Stress, Sleeping problems, Smoking issues and issues caused by Physical Illness.
How I work
I believe the relationship is central to my work, I offer discreet, ethical, confidential,
Integrative Therapy including:
Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural (CBT), Solution Focused, Psychodynamic, Mindfulness and Hypnotherapy.
Working with a combination of therapy approaches enables me to adapt therapy to meet your individual needs and goals
What to expect
In our first assessment meeting we will explore what brings you to therapy, if we feel we can work together and how best to proceed for your needs.
I'll offer you a respectful, non- judgemental space, away from the demands of daily life.
In our sessions, proceeding at your pace, with only what you feel able to share, I will help you explore your thoughts and feelings, enabling you to work towards the changes you hope for.
Sessions last for 50 minutes and usually take place weekly, we can agree 2 weekly intervals if that is more suitable for you.
Short term work usually lasts 6-8 weeks, this is negotiable.
Longer term work is also available, being reviewed together and agreed as we progress.
