Hi, my name is Sue Eley, I am an experienced counsellor/psychotherapist. I will listen and help you to understand your problems. Together we will work to identify the changes you may wish to make, in a calm, confidential and safe space.
I have worked for 25 years with individuals, couples, families and young people in a variety of settings. These have included, amongst others, working with victims of bullying, domestic violence and adult survivors of childhood abuse.
Whilst working for Social Care & Health 20 years ago, with families and young people experiencing difficulties, I realised the better able I was to listen and communicate the better the results. To this end I undertook training in Solution Focused Brief Therapies, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, etc. This led me to my formal training in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Southampton University.
I specialise in areas such as anger, anxiety, stress, depression, couples counselling, changing circumstances, bereavement and loss, family conflicts and life coaching.
I have run my own practice in Weymouth for 8 years.
My practice continues to evolve and for some years now I have been training with Mindfulness. This has positive results, particularly with people suffering from panic attacks, depression and anxiety. I can integrate this into our work, if this is something you would like.
I offer a fully integrative approach. Following your inquiry you will be invited to a free initial session, which allows us to explore your concerns and plan how we may work together.
Some people find a few weekly sessions, 6-8 to be enough. Others, may choose to come for longer. At the initial session we would assess and agree your individual needs, expected outcomes and timescales.
I offer counselling, face to face, by telephone or skype, which ever is more convenient for you.
I also offer relationship counselling to couples and families.
