I currently hold a Diploma in Person Centred Counselling and have done since 2004 and a Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling Supervision since 2008. I also hold certificates for Thought Field Therapy (TFT specific tapping technique) and Mastering Hypnosis.
Haywood Counselling Centre was established in 2009 and provides Counselling, Supervision Thought Field Therapy, Hypnosis and Workshops that are specifically tailored for individuals, couples, groups and organisations.
Philosophy: Supporting you to reach your full potential.
Mission: To promote the well being of clients by providing an accessible, high quality service that emphasises trust, respect, confidentiality, and compassion.
The Centre is dedicated to providing an honourable service, which is guided by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice.
Through my training and experience of counselling and supervising clients, I have developed a sensitive approach towards the needs and difficulties of any client group and understand the necessity to work imaginatively with individuals and groups in order that they can express themselves. This includes using alternative methods in which to work and encourage the value of using a wide range of creative interventions.
I work with individuals who are experiencing issues relating to depression, health, low self-esteem, work related stress, anxiety, abuse, anger, trauma, sexuality, bereavement and loss. I also work with individuals, couples, families and groups who are experiencing relationship difficulties in their personal or work life.
Theoretical Approaches to Counselling and Supervision
Counselling and supervision is designed to help identify thoughts, emotions and behaviours which, once accessed, can offer a greater awareness of personal resources and can facilitate considerable change. Haywood Counselling Centre is highly committed to providing a service, which is significantly informed by Integrative counselling and supervision and includes: Person Centred, Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioural and Creative methods.
Relationship Counselling: for couples, family and groups
Works to improve communication and resolve problems within your relationship.Techniques used will take place within your counselling sessions but there may be some tasks to complete or discuss in between sessions. Most couples or families who attend counselling leave it as a last resort before they contact but I would advise that if you have got some problems in your relationship or things have changed in some way which are having a negative impact on the relationship contact me rather than leaving it to get a lot worse – it will take less time to get the relationship back on track and achieve your goals.
Thought Field Therapy (TFT)
Cutting edge technique for the rapid relief of many kinds of emotional problems including:
Addictions (food, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, gambling)
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
TFT can provide emotional renewal quickly and safely with no side effects. The gentle nature, speed, and power of these techniques leave you noticeably relieved and no longer stuck in your previously distressed reaction patterns.
TFT Addiction Cessation (smoking, alcohol, drugs, gambling and food) I recommend an initial consultation of 1 hour, which allows sufficient time for assessment, information sharing and treatment to take place, progress is rapid right from start.
Is your addiction stopping you from reaching your true potential in life?
Smoking/Drinking/Drugs/Gambling/Food - contact me when your ready to stop.
Is a safe established therapy with a proven track record in helping to regain control of your life. It can provide you with the opportunity to identify and change patterns that are stopping you from moving forward or achieving your true potential by using your conscious and unconscious mind. Once you are in a relaxed state, you have the ability to connect with your own way of knowing and feeling. The trance state induced by hypnotherapy is totally safe and you will be in control at all times. It is a place between alertness and sleep that we all access at times throughout the day. The trance state leaves your mind free of its usual distractions so that you can access more of your own resources and knowing. I can guide you to discover what it is that you want in life.
The Importance of Regular and Effective Supervision for Professionals
Supervision is a supportive process for counsellors and encourages an awareness of how working practices affect individuals. It provides a supportive setting, offers stability, reinforces boundaries and identifies the pressures that counselling clients can bring.
It encourages awareness and identification of professional working practices. It ensures individuals are working safely, ethically and to the highest professional standards whilst polices, practices and procedures are adhered to.
It is a process that develops skills and abilities and encourages reflection, self-awareness, ways of working with clients and identifies training requirements.
At Haywood Counselling Centre we provide workshops for counsellors, supervisors and healthcare professionals and these workshops offer continuous post-training support, in which participants can contact us with any queries and questions in relation to the workshops.

Due to the sheer effectiveness of Thought Field Therapy (TFT) and Hypnotherapy two sessions are usually sufficient: I recommend an initial consultation of 50 minutes which is £150. The second 50 minute session is £120 (evening appointments £125). Follow up sessions (only if necessary) are 50 minutes and are £80 (evening appointments £85).
