About me

About me

I am a registered and accredited Counsellor with the BACP.

I qualified in 2010, gaining a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. In addition I have qualifications in Person Centred Counselling as well as CBT.

I also undertake regular CPD.

I currently offer online sessions. I am UK based and able to offer sessions to individuals also UK based.

What to expect in your first session

We can discuss what brings you to counselling at our initial meeting. If you'd like to go ahead the sessions are weekly for 50 minutes.  These can be on a short term or a longer term basis. We can decide to have regular weekly sessions for as long as the sessions are beneficial.

Sessions are confidential and I adhere to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework 2018

How Counselling can help

Life events impact our day to day living. They can affect us gradually or intensely and be short or longer periods of time. Sometimes relationships or circumstances change and leave us feeling overwhelmed.

I can provide a confidential counselling space to explore situations, thoughts and feelings that may be causing anxiety, depression and sadness.

Counselling can facilitate increased awareness of ourselves as individuals and in relationships. This can lead to change and a sense of being able to move forward.

Please email me initially to arrange an initial appointment.  I will, prior to the first meeting, send over some information for you to look at, fill in and send back.

If you have any questions please email me.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
