Profile
As an experienced professional counsellor and psychotherapist I offer time and a safe environment for you to air your concerns, reflect upon them and look at ways that you might understand your difficulties better. I aim to be open-minded and supportive, I don't give advice but will try and help you to pursue your understanding of what is happening and support you in seeking your own way forward.
I do not believe that there is one mode of therapy that suits all individuals or even all the issues within an individual. Therefore I practice from an integrative therapy approach, which means that I amalgamate and incorporate several schools of psychotherapy.
I may use cognitive behavioural, ACT, transactional analysis, Gestalt, person centred or transpersonal interventions and I am guided by (though tend not to practice) psychodynamic theory. I have found that this makes therapy more relevant for you as an individual and it means that the most appropriate therapeutic approach is adopted for each problem.
I offer short or longer-term work with day and evening appointments. My purpose built counselling room is situated in Newtown Linford, Leicester in an idyllic setting among trees and next to the River Lyn. There is ample driveway parking and access to the consulting room and toilet facilities is wheelchair friendly.
