About me

I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and retired NHS Consultant Psychotherapist with a small private psychotherapy practice which I share with some colleagues.

If you decide to contact me, you can rest assured the service is confidential. You will be treated with respect and find that I am non-judgmental.  I understand that emotional problems may give rise to a sense of shame and taking a step to seek assistance can feel difficult, but for many people, it marks the beginning of recovery.

Experience - I have over thirty years experience in the profession having worked across voluntary, statutory (NHS) and independent settings.  In the early 1980's I trained as a nurse.  My professional counselling training started in 1985 and upon qualification, I continued in post graduate level training leading to my psychotherapy registration.

Specialist Help - I provide brief or time limited evidenced based psychotherapies for Depression, Anxiety and Obsessions.  Therapies such as, CBT, IPT and Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy known as DIT have been shown to be effective in extensive research trials .

I also offer CBT for Obsessions and EMDR for Post Traumatic Stress reactions

My Premises

I have a purpose built self contained consulting room with a waiting area and washroom facilities. I can cater for most physical disabilities.

Free private car parking.

I am centrally located - about 5 minutes' walk from Maidstone West Station.
