Thank you for looking at my profile. I am an experienced counsellor working with clients aged 18 and above on many of the issues which can affect us in our lives including:
Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Bereavement and Loss, Life Changes/Transitions,
Relationship issues, Trauma and Abuse.
My experience includes having worked in a variety of settings:
- a GP health care centre
- a university counselling service for students & staff
- a specialist bereavement support organisation
- a service supporting those affected by crime
in addition to now seeing clients in my private practice based in central Maidstone.
Week daytime and evening sessions are available at my central location in Maidstone with good access via public transport and car parking close by. Counselling therapy room is situated within The Maidstone Community Support Centre which has disabled access see website www.mcsc.org.uk
I work with clients from many different backgrounds, regardless of age (18 and above) culture, religious or spiritual beliefs, sexuality and gender identity.
I am committed to regular ongoing training as part of my continuing professional development and attend monthly supervision. I am a registered member of the BACP, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work within their ethical framework.
My service is confidential and non-judgemental
My training is in humanistic therapies and I work in what is termed the Person Centred approach. This is to say that I work with the experience of each and every client as the unique individual they are and on those issues in their life that they feel are important to them at this time, whilst holding always with the belief that any answers and potential resolutions to their difficulties are there to be found ultimately within the person themself. My role is to provide a safe, therapeutic space and relationship within which each individual client is able to experience the emotional and psychological support needed as they are sensitively able to focus and work on the issues which has lead to them coming to counselling seeking support as they begin drawing upon some of their often hidden resources.
