Steve Perrin SENIOR BACP ACCRED.
07825511966 / 07825511966
I offer counselling, life coaching, supervision and psychotherapy.
With over 28 years experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist I believe I have the tools to help my clients explore their thoughts, feelings and emotions in a protected and reassuring environment.
Using a person-centered approach, I explain my role as being there for my clients; to listen very carefully without interrupting or judging, helping them in subtle ways to explore their problems. I will be trying to hear and sense the feelings behind the words and then reflect those feelings back to the individual, enabling them to make sense of, and work through, their difficulties.
I believe strongly that building a relationship with my clients where safety and trust are paramount, is at the heart of a successful therapeutic alliance. If a client is unused to being treated with consideration, the experience of being respected, listened to and treated with dignity and kindness, can be both new and powerful.
Often, this approach will affect an individual profoundly and can allow them to share with me experiences and events they have never spoken of with anyone else before and by doing so help them unlock their feelings.
Once this trust and safety has been established, the process of unravelling old patterns and strategies can begin and I can really engage with my clients to facilitate their goals, hopes and changes, whatever those may be for them.
