About me

I have over 40 years experience of providing therapeutic interventions within the NHS, private practice and the criminal justice system. During this time I have worked with people to improve their quality of life by overcoming emotional and psychological difficulties particularly in relation to anxiety, depression and relationship issues. In addition, I have considerable experience of assisting individuals with challenging issues relating to substance use, chemsex, pornography addictions, religious trauma, those leaving religious sects, employment issues, organisational dynamics, PTSD, offending behaviour and imprisonment.

I have considerable experience of men and women working in adult industries and sex work.

The first appointment is used to make a full assessment of the situation. This is a mutual process to consider the most likely effective way of working together. A working agreement is then established to ensure respect, safety and to answer any questions.

Following the assessment then short or long term intervention commences. The minimum number is usually 6 to 12 weekly appointment and long term work is usually open-ended with reviews every 3 months.

I am qualified to provide both psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy. I train and coach effective mindfulness meditation techniques to assist many areas of personal development.

Clinical supervision is available for trainees and qualified practitioners.

For those involved in legal proceedings I can provide Forensic mental health assessments to assist in judicial process. These assessments can be commissioned by legal representatives, the probation service and by the courts.
