About me

The counselling process can also be a fantastic tool to help you make sense of your life.  Have you ever felt lost or stuck?  Or been unmotivated but not known why?  Why not give yourself a bit of an M.O.T. ?  We are the most valuable tool we will ever need or use but so often we focus on everything else but ourselves.  If you do feel a lack of direction, counselling may enable you to find your way again.  To develop greater self awareness and clarity.  Possibly rediscovering who you are or even discovering for the first time.  Life can be overwhelming, but dedicating some time per week can help you untangle those strands of your life that have become confusing.

Counselling for some people may be quite a scary thought and I assure you that I am here to help to create the safest and non-judgemental space to allow you to talk about the things most important to you.   Counselling can help in many different ways.   Having someone to talk to can be an empowering process. So too can be the process of discovering your own inner resources.  Talking can provide huge relief in sharing a personal and intimate part of your life you may have been holding back.  By doing so with a professional, I will share none of the bias that others in yourlife may have such as expectations of family, colleagues and friends.  I will be focused solely on you and your experience as well as the direction you want to take in life.  For some people this may be processing loss, past hurt, childhood trauma's that have been carried through to present day, anxieties, fears, lonliness to name a few.

I am a fully insured counsellor working in the Glasgow and Airdrie areas   I am a member of the BACP and adhere to its Ethical Framework and Code of Conduct.  I currently also work in an EAP setting with a nationwide provider. I have had previous experience working in a College setting, working with Voice Hearers at Time and Space in Glasgow as well as my own private practice.

If you would be interested in working with me, I would be more than happy to discuss this further.  Before all first sessions I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation to ensure you are happy with the service I am to provide and to answer any questions.

Further information

I am very passionate about anxiety in all its forms whether that be social anxiety, OCD, or phobias. I believe in the person centred approach empowering people to tailor there own solutions to their unique situation. The affects and reasons for anxiety are very individual and can affect many areas of your life.  Especially today in the digital age it is easy to get lost in the demands of who we SHOULD be rather than who we are and WANT to be. Through talking you can tackle your anxiety, it's roots and find a way suited to you to move forward.

I believe in the voice the therapuetic process can give to the anxious part of you (or any part of you) that may often be surpressed whether through your own embarrassement or of the influence of others.
