Profile

I am a psychodynamic counsellor and have trained and worked with survivors for several years in the areas of abuse,(physical and sexual) I also have experience counselling people with conditions such as Bi-Polar, PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) Anxiety, Stress, Trauma, Domestic Violence, Rape, Sexual Assault, Grief and Loss.

I still work voluntarily within an organisation for abuse,counselling and supporting survivors and mothers of sexually abused children.

The psychodynamic mode works well for clients experiencing any of the above criteria as it deals with past experiences, back to the root where it began. PTSD for instance can be linked to the past, therefore affecting your life in the here and now. By bringing unconscious to conscious it allows for exploration of hidden agenda that can be blocked. Once unblocked healing is able to take place.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

I am a degree level qualified HND (mbacp) Psychodynamic Counsellor/Therapist working to the codes, ethics and standards of BACP

I am now in the process of working for accreditation

I am regulated via an accredited supervisor and hold a professional indemnity certificate of insurance and CRB certificate.

I have trained and work with Humanistic counselling aswell as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy) CCT (Cognitive Counselling Therapy) and the (Psychodynamic Model)
