I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and experienced trainer working with young people and adults. For over ten years I have worked in education and the charity sector. As well as having a private practice I currently work part-time at a local sixth form centre as Wellbeing Co-ordinator and Counselling Course tutor.
I believe passionately in promoting good mental health and wellbeing. I work with clients to explore a range of topics including adoption, anxiety, bereavement, depression, eating disorders, education, general counselling, health, identity, loss, mental health, pregnancy, redundancy, relationships, self-esteem, stress, young carers and work.
I work in an integrative way, drawing upon many different theoretical orientations. These include Person-Centred, CBT, Psychodynamic, Gestalt therapy among others. I respond to the individual needs and styles of the client and adapt each session appropriately. Sometimes it can be very useful to use a creative approach to problems and therefore we may also use play, art and sand-tray in our sessions.
I work with young people aged 11 and above and adults.
All my counselling work is regularly supervised by qualified counselling supervision.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their code of ethics.
