CBT can run from 6 to 20 sessions depending on your difficulties. I usually meet with clients for 10-12 sessions. It is helpful to have consistency so we can meet at the same time every week.

Please contact me via email or phone.
We can have a brief conversation about what is distressing you and arrange to meet in person. I recognise that it takes courage and strength to seek help and I will offer a transparent, supportive and safe therapeutic relationship.
The first session is an assessment appointment during which we can identify your difficulties, set achievable goals and discuss what approach would best suit you.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is an evidence based approach. It proposes that how we think impacts on how we feel and behave, and vice-versa how we behave impacts on our feelings and how we think. It helps you to understand how you think about yourself, the world and other people around you. In our sessions I will help you monitor, learn about and challenge these processes to help you develop practical day to day coping strategies.
CBT is a time limited approach which focuses on the here and now. CBT can help you to make sense of overwhelming problems by breaking them down into smaller parts.
Psychodynamic counselling is longer term, less structured approach than CBT. It is helpful for clients to discuss and explore deep rooted issues in a safe environment. I also use compassion focused strategies and mindfulness in both of my approaches.
I am an Accredited registered member of the BACP (069729).
