I am a fully qualified counsellor and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I have a long-held belief in each person inner ability and potential, which is very much at the heart of my counselling practice and theoretical model.
This means that I won't impose my views on you or tell you what to do. My role is to be with you as you make sense of your feelings, thoughts and behaviours and to encourage you to reconnect with yourself and to uncover your own resources. I will support you in moving forward so that you can realise your full potential.
This is achieved by means of a genuine therapeutic relationship in a warm environment where you can feel safe, supported and free to explore whatever difficulties you may be facing.
I listen empathically so that I can understand you and what you are experiencing; feeling heard and understood allows us to accept ourselves more, to feel 'OK' with being who we truly are.
Approaching counselling for the first time can be a daunting experience. I offer a free initial consultation for you to ask any questions about me and about the counselling process, and to discuss any concerns you may have. This is also an opportunity for us to meet and get a sense of whether we can work together.

Clients have come for counselling with a wide range of issues including, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, self-harm, suicidal ideation, stress, low-self esteem, trauma, relationship issues, religion, and discrimination, to name just a few.
I have witnessed remarkable positive changes and clear improvements in clients with a long history of anxiety, panic attacks, depression and low mood. They have reported (in some cases in fewer than six counselling sessions) feeling 'free', 'liberated' or 'excited about life', for example.
