I am a fully Qualified and Experienced Counsellor registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and British Psychological Society. Currently, I work in the NHS as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner and also have my Counselling private practice. I offer Telephone, Skype & Face-to-face counselling in English, Urdu, Hindi, Gujarati & Marathi. I offer the initial session free if taken online.

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist/Counsellor, meaning that I draw from a range of therapies and approaches to suit your needs. Some of these are, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Person-centred therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Mindfulness, Transactional Analysis, and Gestalt Therapy. I believe in working with you, as an individual, and not only with your issue or ‘problem’.
You might want help with changing life patterns or are looking for a different perspective to your problems. Some choose an exploratory approach to counselling whereas others prefer a more structured approach with solution-focused strategies such as changing thoughts and behaviours.
Whatever be your preferred approach, I can help you get to a point where you are happy and content with the life you are living.
I am passionate about making a difference to people's lives and this is what motivated me to become a Counsellor. Having been in therapy myself, I have an understanding of how we might struggle at various points in our lives and that it can be difficult to open up to someone about this. The experience of being a client is quite familiar to me and I try to offer what I would expect for myself- a safe, warm and non-judgmental space to talk about how you feel and what is distressing you.
You do not need to be ‘ill’ or have a diagnosis to avail of Counselling. You might be simply going through a difficult time and just need to talk or find a way out. You might be struggling with relationships or are simply having a hard time doing things that were once a part of your routine. Maybe you haven’t really experienced something specific to cause the distress, so you can’t understand what is really going on and why you feel the way you do. People opt for Counselling due to various reasons, and whatever be your reason, I am here to help you.
I work with adults aged 16 years and over and offer both short-term (6-12 sessions) and longer term work (more than 20 sessions) depending on what you prefer and need.
I offer Skype and Telephone Counselling in addition to face-to-face Counselling, which means you can access Counselling from the comfort of your home.
I am DBS checked and have full professional indemnity and public liability insurance. I attend regular supervision to review my Counselling work.

I have 6 years’ work experience counselling online and face-to-face in mental health centres and counselling organizations, including the NHS (Doncaster and Leeds), Leeds Mind, Well Women Centre (Wakefield), Pathways Family Support Centre (Barnsley) and Mind Temple (India). My experience also includes counselling online via Skype and live chat.

I understand that booking your first counselling appointment can be a daunting experience. I also think it is important for you to feel comfortable with your Counsellor.
First session: The initial 50 minute face-to-face session will give you the opportunity to share what you will be bringing to Counselling and decide whether you'd like to work with me. I offer an initial 30 minute session free of charge if taken online/via telephone.
Follow-up sessions: They last for about 50 minutes. I charge £40 for face-to-face sessions and £30 for Skype/Telephone sessions.
You might choose Skype or Telephone Counselling for affordability, anonymity, if you feel anxious, have a disability or want to save travel time.
I currently have limited spaces for low-cost and short-term Counselling, based on your circumstances. Please inquire for more information.

2. Schedule: I will respond to your email as soon as possible and we can discuss a time to have our initial session. During this session, we will talk about what you'd like to get out of therapy and how we might work together.
3. Decide: If you decide to continue, we will discuss the frequency of our sessions and decide on a day/time to have them. We will review our work every month to make sure you are getting what you need from therapy.
