About me

It is common for people to become stuck, overwhelmed or dissatisfied with aspects of their lives or relationships. At these times it can be beneficial to talk through what your struggling with and how you would like it to be different with a trained professional.

Clinical Experience
I am a Senior Clinical Psychologist and accredited CBT and EMDR therapist with 9 years post-qualification experience.

I am a warm and experienced clinician providing confidential, tailored and evidence-based therapies aimed at helping you to feel better and get back on track. I specialise in working with adults with a wide range of difficulties who would like support to understand themselves better and advice on how to improve their wellbeing and quality of life. I can help you to understand how your difficulties may be being maintained and support you to make lasting change in the areas important to you.

I draw on a variety of different therapeutic models and techniques depending on the difficulties you would like help with.

These include:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (including Trauma Focused CBT)
  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
  • Mindfulness, and
  • Psychosexual Therapy.

Getting started:
Please feel free to contact me by email. We can then speak to see if your hopes for therapy may be complemented by what I can offer. I will aim to get back to you as soon as I can to answer any queries you may have and let you know my availability. If I am not able to offer you help at this time or feel that what you are looking for lies outside my area of expertise, I will endeavour to signpost you on to alternative services.

Next steps:

1. Assessment

We will arrange a time to meet and discuss in more detail what you are struggling with and what you would like to work on. The assessment process usually takes 1 to 2 sessions depending on the nature of your difficulties. Following this we will agree some initial goals for therapy, that we can review regularly to check we are on the right track.

2. Therapy sessions

We will plan a course of sessions together to work through your difficulties and help get you get back on track. The number and frequency of sessions can be flexible, depending on what you would like to work on and your goals for therapy. Together we will plan things you can do between sessions to help maximise your progress. When you feel back on track, it can be helpful to plan a booster session(s) to help you stay on track.
