I am an experienced and qualified Integrative Counsellor with a background in business management. I understand the stresses of working to deadlines, managing other people’s expectations and holding responsibility at a high level.
I work with patients who have a variety of presenting issues, mainly I work with:
- relationship issues
- and trauma
- male and female victims of domestic violence
Type of issues I work with are listed in the separate section of this page.
I have worked as a primary counsellor, family therapist, a group facilitator in various settings particularly within the addiction sector and ran parenting skills groups. I have also worked with C.R.I. (Crime Reduction Initiative) which allowed me to deeply understand drug and alcohol dependency, dual diagnosis, violence, shock, trauma, self-harm and sexual issues. For a number of years I worked with clients who have been involved with the child protection services as well as the criminal justice system. Over the last seven years I have also worked with carers who often feel isolated and invisible.
I am currently working as a psychotherapist in a major South London Hospital where I closely work with two consultants who specialise in treating patients experiencing hearing loss as well as having balance issues. Their patients are referred to me for short-term or open-ended therapy. During the rest of the week I work in private practice offering individual, couple as well as family therapy in London and Surrey and provide a confidential, non-judgmental, nurturing space for you to explore any issues.
I started my company BASE Counselling and Consultancy Services in 2013.
As an integrative therapist I will draw on different aspects of various therapeutic models when working with clients. During your time in therapy with me you can explore relationship issues either present or historic, boundary issues and belief systems that impact your life. I will also support you in developing new coping strategies. I am also available for crisis counselling and short notice appointments.
