Sian Maman BSc (Hons) Counselling and Psychotherapy MBACP
One of the most common reasons for contacting a counsellor is anxiety. Anxiety and generalised anxiety disorder are just some of the many issues that I deal with in my work as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist. Whatever issues you may be dealing with, I offer a safe place to talk and my undivided attention. I will strive to offer the support and encouragement required for you to develop, grow and establish a greater sense of balance in your life.
I have a private practice in Calverton, North Nottinghamshire. I also have use of rooms within a counselling agency in Beeston near Nottingham. I am committed to providing therapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment. I invite you to check out my website for further information about me and the support I can provide.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist. This means that my main focus will be to build a safe, trusting and therapeutic relationship with you. I will not bombard you with advice or tell you what to do. You are the expert on you, but together we can explore what may be preventing you from reaching your full potential and fulfillment in life.
BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute Nottingham, in partnership with Staffordshire University.
BSc (Hons) in Health Care Studies from the University of Nottingham.
I work with adults of all ages and varying cultural backgrounds. I have experience in a wide variety of issues including anxiety, depression and panic attacks. These are often signs of underlying issues. By exploring these together, we can endeavour to uncover possible causes and help you to develop coping strategies especially tailored to meet your needs.
I also work with clients experiencing difficulties with loss, stress, childhood trauma and life transitions such as divorce, retirement and children leaving home.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within the ethical framework of both the BACP and the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC). I hold an advanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate and professional indemnity insurance.
