Hi I am Shireen, welcome to my profile.
'The first step is always the hardest' If you are reading this I am assuming you have already taken that first step. You maybe looking into counselling for yourself or for a loved one in either case I can help.
I am an experienced Adult and Child Counsellor. I believe that counselling can be beneficial for anyone and everyone whether it is sought to overcome a present crisis or a past traumatic event. Counselling can also help an individual looking to develop a greater degree of self confidence and self awareness. I aim to provide my clients with a safe, confidential, non-judgemental and supportive space within my therapy room. I work to the Integrative model of counselling with emphasis on the Person Centred Approach, which means that I can tailor therapy to the individual client's needs and requirements.

Besides English I am fluent in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) And work within its ethical framework. My details can be found on their online register of qualified therapists.
I hold a Diploma in Counselling from the Sheffield Hallam University completing my training in January 2011.
I have a Cerificate of Higher Education in Counselling Skills from the Sheffield Hallam University completed in 2008.
I have completed an Introduction to Counselling Skills 10 week course from the Dearne Valley College in 2006.
In addition to the above I hold a Bachelors degree in Business Completed in 1992.
I am part of an experienced team of counsellors at Beacon Counselling & Coaching based in Sheffield and Doncaster.
I have three years of experience working as a Counsellor with the charity Place2Be, providing counselling to children in schools and have completed all the relevant training to work therapeutically with children. I am up to date with child protection training and hold an up to date enhanced CRB disclosure.
Previously I have also worked as a Counsellor with Roshni Asian Women's Resource Centre in Sheffield. Besides English I am fluent in Hindi and Urdu and can follow Punjabi
I also have 4 years of experience working as a Mental Health Counsellor at Doncaster MIND and 2 years of experience working as Parent and Staff Counsellor at Heatherwood Special School.
