About me

Sometimes life doesn't seem fair, we can feel overwhelmed, confused, anxious and sad, lost and vulnerable. Whatever you may be struggling with right now, step by step I will be with you, to help bring about a calmness and balance to your life. I am experienced in many areas and I can offer you a safe and confidential space to explore your difficulties and together we can make a difference.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR FIRST SESSION

The counselling I offer, is a space to explore and untangle your difficulties and areas of your life that are troubling you, so that you can become more clear and start to make sense of your life and how you want to move forward.
Friends or families may be supportive, but it is sometimes difficult to confide in the people closest to you.

My approach is one of a caring and empathic nature where you can feel safe and be listened to and not be judged. I will strive to understand your world with warmth, patience and compassion.

I am open to everyone - Clients come to see me from all walks of life. I will work at your pace in a non-directive approach, providing you with the chance to share your story and thoughts whilst enabling us to work together through your feelings and thoughts and find the right path for you to take

COUPLES COUNSELLING:

Moving towards a new, healthy relationship will have tremendous physical & psychological benefits that will positively affect many areas of your lives - not just a better connection. Counselling will give you a better understanding of where you're at right now & where you both want to be.  I am not here to judge or criticise and I will give you both a safe space to explore your feelings and emotions openly, identifying new ways of being together, rediscovering your closeness & intimacy,  which originally brought you together.  Unhealthy relationships can put a strain on your emotional health & wellbeing - so more than ever I believe you must work towards becoming a stronger & healthier team.  Needing new understanding of yourselves : what you each need and want from this new relationship.  Also at the same time, whilst appreciating & taking in the other person's needs and wants.  It's important to keep the attraction you feel for each other alive.  So you need to create a foundation that feels emotionally safe & know that you each have each other's backs no matter what.  This foundation will help you both work towards being your actual selves in the relationship and not feeling the need to protect or defend yourselves. I feel this shift in focus is critical - being free to be who you are is really important because of the loss of connection to your true self will disable your ability, or desire to meet your partner's desires & needs

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
