About me
I am a Counselling Psychologist working in Aylesbury. I offer sessions to assist people to explore themselves and their current situation to gain a greater understanding or walk alongside them as they make life changes they feel are necessary.
I am aware that sometimes people find it hard to discuss their worries or their aspirations with people they know, or feel those close to them listen but do not hear. This pandemic has made many difficulties even worse for many people and they feel they are struggling alone despite having others in their lives. For others it is important to take time out of their normal day-to-day life to reflect on their life and their self. I offer one to one counselling either short or long term depending on your needs for issues ranging from feeling sad, low self-worth, depression, anxiety, generalised anxiety, relationship difficulties etc.
I believe the aim of counselling is to provide you with an opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe place. I will use knowledge acquired from my training to help you gain a better understanding of yourself, your current situation and your relationships.
For some people understanding your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and perhaps where they may have come from is all you require. However for others they wish to understand and then make some changes in order to either minimise distress or adapt more fulfilling ways of being.
My role is to help you through either process without judgement or telling you what to do. I may on occasions give information or offer suggestions. I am well aware that often the nature of the issues discussed are very sensitive so we will endeavour to create an environment in which any issue can be explored.
I am a registered Counselling Psychologist with the HCPC (The Health and Care Professions Council). I am also a Chartered Psychologist and embrace the British Psychological Society's code of ethics and conduct which is available from the website: www.bps.org.uk.
Sessions are online, telephone or face to face to suit your needs.
Face to face appointments are available at The Meeting House, Rickford's Hill, Aylesbury. I offer sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the day or evenings.
Please contact me by email or on 07906 620605 to discuss a day and time that best suits you.
If you are unsure of what counselling is or how it can help you, feel free to email me. We could also arrange a time to discuss this.
