Profile
My name is Sheila Kaur and I am a qualified counsellor with a wealth of experience. I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work in accordance with their guidelines. I am bound by its ethical framework for good practice, and I am also CRB checked.
I have worked with a diverse group of clients and my back ground includes domestic violence, couples counselling, group counselling, family work, parenting skills, supervised contact, one to one work, working with asylum seekers and young people.
I am dedicated to providing a professional, confidential, non-judgemental and person centred approach to individuals. My aim is to provide a service that makes clients feel safe and comfortable. This enables us to work together and encourage clients to express their feelings in such a way that makes it possible for us to get to the root of the problem.
I operate an equal opportunities policy and aim to provide an inclusive service irrespective of age, gender, race, culture, disability or sexual orientation. I believe that each client is an individual and that no two problems are the same. I conduct our service with respect and a professional approach.
My role is not to tell you what to do, or to give you advice, but to help you focus on your feelings and gain a deeper understanding of them and what is going on for you, helping you to move forward with your life.
To ensure that I am aware of new developments within my profession and to assist in my ongoing professional development I regularly attend workshops and training courses.
