Profile

Counselling is a place and a time for you to talk about whatever is troubling you . It can be a time to stop and reflect on what is going on in your life and to examine the possibilities and choices that lie before you.  Counselling is a joint enterpise between therapist and client. Together we can  explore and understand your current difficulties, feelings and thoughts.  The aim of such an exploration is to see more clearly what your situation is, to experiment with either discovering new solutions and possibilities  that are open to you or with coming to terms with the difficulties that confront you.

I work with clients both short-term (e.g. six, eight, twelve sessions) and longer term (six months onwards), depending on your individual needs. You can also come along for one single session to talk about your situation before deciding  whether you wish to opt for counselling.

I provide a safe, confidential and accepting environment in which to do this. All counsellors are in regular supervision and some of the material of the sessions would at times be discussed with my supervisor, in an anonymous form.

I have  a broad range of clinical experience and have supported  clients through a wide variety of issues including  anxiety, depression, low self esteem, anger issues, relationship difficulties, self harm, bereavement and addictions.
