Dr. Sharron Jane Smith, C.Psychol.
85 Wimpole Street

I am a chartered psychologist working in both the NHS and private practice. I work privately in central London W1 and in Leatherhead. I am registered with the British Psychological Society and Health Care Professionals Council.
As a counselling psychologist my training combined knowledge and skills in therapeutic practice within the scientific discipline of psychology. In my view therapy is about having a safe, warm and confidential space to work through your difficulties at your own pace. I work from an integrative relational approach which means I draw upon numerous models and theories depending upon your unique preferences and needs. I also place much emphasis on the relationship between the therapist and client and believe it is important that you find a therapist who is right for you.
How can therapy help?
The reasons people consider therapy are varied. You may have a specific, nameable problem like depression or anxiety, you may be experiencing relationship problems at home or at work, or be grappling with issues from your past.
Therapy can help in many ways. It can help you to change unhelpful patterns of thinking or behaviour that cause you distress. It can help you to gain better understanding of yourself and those around you or help you to come to terms with a life changing event. Depending on your needs you may opt for a short-term problem focussed therapy or prefer a longer, exploratory approach.
The first step would be to call, text or email me in confidence to arrange a telephone consultation and/or initial meeting. I will endeavour to get back to you before the following working day.
