Sharon Wagner MBACP
Hello to you,
I'll try and give you some good information that will help you make a decision on who you want your counsellor to be.
My interest in therapy and relationships began some time ago when I undertook my degree in Psychology. I was in my 20s then and I just didn't feel I had the life experience to go into providing therapy at that stage of my life. For 20 years I worked as a successful project manager and took my chances to tour the world and live in other places. It was in my 40s that I decided I was ready to go back to this career. Since finishing my training I have worked in different areas of the profession and worked with different client groups. I currently work at the University of Edinburgh, providing therapy for the students.
Why choose me?
Understanding: I understand how hard therapy can be and can help you through the process to enable real and lasting change.
Experience: I have wide experience in the field of therapy and life. I have travelled and lived in Ireland, Lithuania, England, Spain and Scotland. I don't judge and am open to any information or thoughts that you bring.
Technique: In addition to have space to explore your personal and interpersonal experiences, I hope to find strategies that help you enhance your ability to live happily and productively and I hope to provide insight that you will find helpful in life and relationships. Depending on your needs, we may find it useful to adopt a Cognitive Behavioural approach to manage the change you desire.
I have my own practice operating in Morningside Edinburgh and I also work for the University of Edinburgh as a counsellor.
e-therapy: I have a recognised online therapy qualification and am able to offer secure email, video or text counselling. I am a member of ACTO which only accepts therapists who have attained a recognised online therapy qualification. You can check that at http://www.acto-uk.org/
I am fully qualified and insured to offer professional counselling.
