Sharon Irvine (née Field), MBACP, Bsc, Dip Couns.
I provide Humanistic therapy, working on the positive basis that you are the expert in your own experience and have the strength and answers within yourself.
I can support you to tap into that strength and experience as you develop a clearer understanding of what's going on for you. This encourages self-awareness and builds on inner strength to better cope with emotions and challenging situations.
Concerns I work with include low self-esteem, depression, anxiety and relationship issues. I work confidentially and without judgement. The Humanistic approaches I work with are Person Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I work within their ethical framework.
Training, qualifications & experience
My experience includes working in private long term counselling and short term NHS therapy (6 to 12 sessions). I have the following qualifications:
- Diploma in Humanistic counselling - Metanoia Institute
- BSc in Reflective Therapeutic Practice - Middlesex University
- Certificate in Interpersonal and Counselling Skills - Metanoia Institute
My knowledge from working in the public sector has increased my understanding of key factors in people’s lives including culture, ethnicity and disability. This, along with my personal experiences deepen the effectiveness of my counselling practice.
