About me

During this time, I am working remotely. I am very used to working via Telephone, FaceTime, What's app and Skype. Please text me to arrange a session.

I offer counselling for anyone in need of help with emotional, personal or relationship problems. I work with adults facing personal challenges or suffering from stress, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, low self esteem, lack of self confidence, psychosomatic illness and insomnia.

I have a qualification in bereavement counselling and many years of experience in this area. I am also practised at providing counselling support for those with learning difficulties.

In addition, I have wide experience in counselling clients who have suicidal inclinations or diagnosed mental health problems.

Having worked and lived in ten countries over the years, I am very familiar with varied cultures and with issues derived from diversity.

I offer short or long-term therapy and tailor my theoretical approach to the needs of individual clients or couples.

My aim is to provide a safe and confidential environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. I can see clients in a consulting room in premises conveniently close to Kingston Station or online, using Skype, FaceTime or Whats App.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have completed a three-year British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)-accredited course of study leading to the award of Advanced Diploma in Integrative-Relational Counselling. Prior to becoming a counsellor I was a qualified general nurse and midwife.

I have fifteen years experience in counselling, and have trained with, and worked for, the Samaritans and Cruse Bereavement Service. I have also specialised in bereavement counselling for adults with learning difficulties.

My recent continuing professional development has focused on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Attachment Theory and other relational issues, Domestic Abuse, Anxiety, Depression and Mindfulness.

I have also had experience in counselling those affected by major disasters including the Asian Tsunami and terrorist bombings.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
