Hello and thank you for visiting my profile
How Counselling works: Counselling can be a short or long term intervention and can help with exploring your thoughts and feelings in a confidential safe space. This can provide a better understanding of a situation or event that has caused a discomfort or distress and can help to facilitate a change to enable you to reach your full potential or a personal goal
What I can offer: I am an integrative Counsellor with experience with working with children / young people, adults and groups in local educational setting, NHS IAPT scheme and in private practice.
About my approach: Life can be a wave of challenging times and it may feel we are expected to adapt to these changes. Sometimes , this can be difficult without additional support whether this be short term or a longer intervention. This is where I can offer additional support to help understand a situation or event or to source the strength and motivation to enhance confidence.
Taking the first step into Counselling can be a difficult or daunting experience. I offer a no obligation initial consultation in a safe enviroment before we can dicuss if we are right to work together as I would like you to feel comfortable within this therapeutic relationship.
I work in an Integrative approach which means, I combine different counselling styles in order to be flexible and provide the best counselling style to suite the individual.
I work in a creative way which means sometimes I may draw upon additional resources that you may find beneficial to the session such as the use of writing, drawing, working with sand trays, stone work or other visual aids or drawing on.
TFT, Thought Field Therapy which is a non invasive form of acupunctur, "Tapping". TFT, Thought Field Therapy, is a therapeutic technique used to treat psychological problems. This method has been developed and refined over the last thirty years by California psychologist, Dr. Roger Callahan
The client is asked to measure the feeling on a scale of 0 to 10, with 10 representing the most intense feelings of upset Whilst then to tap on his or her own body in specific places, of energy points, in a specific order. To reduce the feeling of upset which is attached to the specific issues which is causing uncomfort or upset.
I am located within the triangle of Ramsgate, Sandwich, Dover and Canterbury, being within a 15 mile radius.
