Sharon Couzens Dip couns MBACP - TFT Algorithm Practitioner
Hello and thank you for visiting my profile.
Taking the first step can be a difficult or daunting experience and with this in mind i offer a half hour meet with no obligation in a safe environment, either face -face or through Skype. I offer this so we can discuss if you feel comfortable to work with me in the therapeutic relationship and if we are right to work together.
I have experience with working with children, young people and adults within the educational environment, private practice, groups and NHS IAPT.
Counselling can be a short or long term intervention and can help with exploring your thoughts and feelings in a confidential safe space. This can provide a better understanding of a situation or event that has caused a discomfort or distress and can help to facilitate a change to enable you to reach your full potential or a personal goal.
Life can be a wave of challenging times and can feel that we are expected to adapt to these changes. This can be difficult, this is where I can offer support to help understand a situation or event to source the strength and motivation to move forward.
I combine different counselling styles in order to be flexible and provide the best counselling style to suite the individual, CBT, TA, Humanistic, Gestalt and TFT.
Thought Field Therapy is a non invasive form of acupuncture, "Tapping" and is a therapeutic technique used to treat psychological problems. This method has been developed and refined over the last thirty years by California psychologist, Dr. Roger Callahan. The client is asked to measure the feeling on a scale, whilst tapping on his or her own body in specific places, of energy points, in a specific order, this reduces the feeling of upset which is attached to the specific uncomfortable issue.
Location: I am located within the triangle of Ramsgate, Sandwich, Dover and Canterbury, being within a 15 mile radius.
