About me
Hello and welcome.
I am a UKCP registered integrative psychotherapist, and have worked in the voluntary sector and private practice for over 20 years. Choosing a therapist can be overwhelming, but you have already taken the difficult first step of recognising that you need support.
People go to therapy for many different reasons such as anxiety, depression, sadness, relationship issues, loss - these can be triggered by life events beyond our control, both big and small. Everyone experiences their life in their own unique way, and that is why working from an integrative approach enables me to use a wide range of methods to support people according to their particular needs, including developing more awareness of the connection between the mind, the body and our emotions.
The focus of therapy with me is to create a compassionate and non-judgemental space for you to address issues that are troubling you. To work together with you to understand better and become more aware of the states of mind, patterns of behaviour or situations which you find yourself repeatedly stumbling into. Through the therapy you will develop tools to recognise and cope better with these situations, and ultimately be able to move beyond them.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Additional information
I offer an initial consultation at a reduced fee of £65 and my fee for ongoing sessions £90. This is for 50 minute face-to-face sessions. However, I also offer a sliding scale with concessionary rates. This would be discussed in the introductory call or when we meet.
