About me
There are times in our lives when we struggle and could really do with some help. Making sense of our thoughts and feelings, or situations which leave us feeling uncomfortable and off balance, is difficult alone, but generally made easier with someone else to talk them through with.
I work with both couples and individuals struggling with many of life's problems. I have the added advantage of a second training specialising in family therapy. The "family" can mean your original family or present family. This work can include different combinations of people, like a parent and child, couples or siblings who feel stuck or an individual with a particular area of difficulty.
Some of the issues might include:
family breakdown and its consequences
high anxiety /fear
communication skills
boundaries
issues of self esteem
desire for growth and change
issues of loss. ........................... to name just a few.
I wholeheartedly believe that a good counselling relationship can provide a safe setting to explore some of these troubles and start making changes. Counselling can help to provide you with a better understanding of relationships, both with yourself and others and I believe it is from this foundation, that you can then go on to realise your full potential and lead a more fulfilled life.
if you would like my help, please feel free to email me to make an appointment for an initial assessment. This gives us the chance to discuss your situation and see if we would be happy to work together.
At this meeting we could then decide on a plan going forward, based on regular appointments at times that suited us both, according to your needs.
I have been counselling since 1997 and have experience of working with adults, young people and couples in a wide variety of settings in both the public and private sectors. I run a private practice in Wiltshire.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
