Hello and welcome. To have found yourself on this website it’s likely that there is something in your life that you’re struggling with. Making the decision to seek support can be a difficult one but can also be the first step to making changes. Many people find that speaking with an independent person separate from their everyday lives can help to give a different perspective on what they’re going through, and can also facilitate a space for them to share what they’re feeling with no judgement in a safe environment.
My approach is Integrative which means I use different theoretical approaches to support my clients depending on their needs and the nature of the presenting issue. My specialist area is Bereavement and Loss, where I have worked with various types of bereavement from miscarriage, illness, and accidents to suicide and homicide. I also work with grief that is not always openly recognised as grief such as infertility. My practice is not limited to this area however and I have worked with numerous clients with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, self-awareness, identity & belonging, and relationship issues. In addition to my individual therapy work I offer training programmes on bereavement and loss for organisations.
My experience includes co-ordinating a bereavement service for children and young people, working for a service dedicated to suicide bereavement, running support groups and training on how to support people through their grief. I have also worked as a Team Leader for BUPA Psychological Services, in their EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) and as a private practitioner for a Counselling Service in Uxbridge.
I offer one to one short term counselling or long term psychotherapy, at your initial assessment we would discuss what would be most beneficial for your individual needs. One of the most important things for therapy to succeed is the relationship built between the client and therapist. I endeavour to create a safe, holding, trusting and supportive space. I believe with the right support we all have the potential to change the things we want to change and build a better relationship with ourselves and those around us.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained at the School of Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regents College, London. The course gave me a good theoretical understanding of the different models used in psychotherapy and counselling. I was able to establish my own way of working as an Integrative Therapist in a supportive and well structured environment.
