About me

I am an Accredited member of the BACP (British Association of counselling and psychotherapy) with extensive experience of working with a wide range of issues including; anxiety, panic disorders, relationship issues, depression, addiction issues and past or present trauma.

Life at times, can feel overwhelmingly difficult to navigate. Whether this is due to a seemingly unmanageable reaction to a life event (past or present), or a general sense of anxiety and dissatisfaction, talking to someone outside of your friends and family circle who is trained and experienced can help you to make new choices and experience a different way of living that is more fulfilling and rewarding.

I offer a safe and confidential space where you can be supported to explore whatever is troubling you.

Finding a therapist can be a daunting task, with this in mind I offer a reduced fee initial session. In this session you will hopefully gain a sense of how I work and whether you consider it will be helpful for you. I belong to an extensive network of therapists and am always happy to discuss an onward referral.

Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have.

In addition to the above, I have over 25 years years experience of delivering specialist individual counselling and group work sessions for people troubled by addiction issues.

I hold the following qualifications

BA hons Counseling

BACP Accredited Advanced Diploma in Counseling

CBT certificate

Advanced Counseling skills certificate

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
