About me

My name is Dr Sarah Ralph. My aim as a therapist is to develop a strong, respectful, non-judgemental and honest relationship with clients. I consider that the client is their own expert, and my role is to facilitate and support the client’s journey as they manage and overcome difficulties and challenges in their life.

I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is central to the process of change; I aim to provide a safe, empathic space for the client to feel relaxed and contained, in order to explore and reflect upon their experiences.

Who can I help?

My clients are as diverse as the world in which we live and I endeavour to be culturally aware within my practice. I specialise within thought and mood disorders and spiritual growth. My areas of work further include depression, stress, bereavement and grief, anxiety, panic, phobias, self-esteem, self-worth, confidence, body image, eating disorders, suicidality and self-harming behaviours, family and relationship issues, trauma, and abuse (not an exhaustive list).

The unique nature of therapy means that it can be time-limited or may be open-ended, it may be goal orientated or more flexibly experienced. Most importantly your therapeutic experience will be determined by what you want, and how therapy can help you to achieve that.

Where am I based?

I regularly conduct therapy and supervision online, both globally and within the UK, via video calling on Skype, FaceTime and Zoom, or via telephone.

What to expect from your first session?

Your first session will involve us getting to know each other. I will ask you some questions to help you to explain why you have come for counselling and find out what you would like to gain from it. I will take great care to help you to feel comfortable and at ease in your session. We will discuss what your therapy will look like and involve going forward, should you wish to engage in your therapy with myself as your therapist.
