Sarah Pregon Registered MBACP, Dip Therapeutic Counselling, Dip CBT
I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor practising in Eastleigh Hampshire and I am also Head of Counselling at The Olive Branch, a general counselling service in Winchester.
I work as an Integrative Counsellor, which means that I work with a range of therapeutic models that are appropriate to your needs. I also work as a CBT practitioner. Sometimes we are aware that we have become 'stuck' in a pattern of thinking or behaviour unable to change, this is where CBT can be effective.
I believe that the relationship between the counsellor and the client is fundamental in the counselling process. Therefore, an initial assessment session enables us to meet and explore what has brought you to counselling. This will enable me to understand your issue better and allow you to decide if the service I can offer would be of benefit to you. Although there is a charge for the initial assessment session there is no obligation for you to continue.
Counselling is time and space put aside for you which enables you to explore in a safe, non-judgmental, empathic and confidential environment the issue that has brought you to counselling and enables you to find your own inner resources for change and personal growth in your life, allowing you to reach your full potential, restore balance to your life and be the person you want to be.
The sessions may include talking about present or past life events and how you may relate to those around you, giving you the opportunity to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviour.
Short or long term therapy is available to suit your needs. The number of sessions required would depend on what it is you would like to explore and this would be discussed during the initial assessment session.
