Sarah Murdoch Registered MBACP
I have always enjoyed working with people. I started my career in the NHS and soon realised how our state of mind influences our physical healing process.
I qualified as a psychotherapeutic counsellor in 2010 and now work in private practice and also as a Youth Counsellor for a local charity. I previously worked as a volunteer counsellor with Coping with Cancer where I gained a lot of experience helping people cope with loss and end of life issues. I have experience of working with issues around domestic abuse, sexual abuse and other violent crimes. I also have experience of working with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, phobias, bereavement, relationship difficulties and OCD. One of my special interests is gender identity and I have also worked with individuals who are in transition.
I work in a very open and straightforward way and genuinely want to help my clients as I firmly believe that counselling is only as good as the relationship between therapist and client. If together we feel that another service would be more beneficial to you, I will try to help you access that service. I offer a 30 minute session at a reduced cost of £15 to help you decide if counselling is right for you.
If you have any questions about the counselling process then please feel free to call me on my mobile between 10am - 7pm ( Monday-Friday ). If I am unable to answer then please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Alternatively, you can email me at any time.
I can offer daytime and evening sessions in both Hinckley and central Leicester. Sessions last for 50 minutes and cost £40.
I have full Professional Liability Insurance & have a current enhanced DBS.
