I can work with a variety of problems ranging from depression to anxiety, work related stress and their related issues. Most of my work is one to one but I can I also work with families and couples who experiencing change in their family and need help to move on. I also do group work and have worked extensively with groups in the Blue Light Services which is for any situation where two or more people need psychological or emotional support. Group therapy provides a really supportive environment for those who find being in social situations difficult whether at home, work or with friends.
I have also worked in the fostering/adoption world and can provide supervision for those in the caring profession.
Training, qualifications & experience
My primary training was in Transactional Analysis with Training South East for four years 1995 - 1999.
I received an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Counselling from West Kent College in 2002.
I am a Registered BACP Accredited counsellor. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and as such, I am bound by its ethical framework for good practice in counselling & psychotherapy.
As well as working with clients in my private practice I have also worked for a Police Force for 7 years as a Clinical Manager for their Welfare & Counselling Services. This included 1-2-1 work as well as training to improve Wellbeing of staff and running psycho education groups.
I previously worked for the Prison Service as a counsellor and manager working therapeutically with staff and inmates.
I have also worked in the fostering and adoption world - have been a foster parent and currently clinically supervise teachers who would like more support working with children in care. I offer mental health awareness training for foster parents and Organisations.

My fee for individuals is £40 per session.
For groups and couples this fee would vary.
Once you have made the initial contact, I will respond to you asap.I will ask you some brief questions regarding the nature of your issues and you will have the opportunity to ask anything you're unsure about.
We will then arrange an appointment when we can meet.
The initial session takes the form of an assessment in which we discuss whether we can work usefully together. If this is not possible, we can discuss other options to help you find the support you need.
The subsequent sessions usually takes place at a mutually agreed time.
I offer long-term, open-ended counselling, which allows a greater exploration of your issues at greater depth. Or, short-term, solution focussed counselling is available.
I offer both daytime and evening sessions, subject to availability.
I can offer training/workshops for individuals or groups that aim to equip individuals with simple strategies to cope and get through difficult periods and have better mental health awareness.
