I passionately believe in helping people achieve a healthy balance, harmony and satisfaction in their couple and sexual relationships and life in general. I never judge people or tell them what to do, but rather try and help them work through their own difficulties in a compassionate and supportive way.
I am a Relate-trained psychosexual therapist and relationship counsellor and I help people with a wide range of sexual difficulties, including vaginismus, painful intercourse, erectile problems, premature ejaculation, difficulties achieving orgasm, low sexual desire and general sexual anxiety. I also work with couples and individuals who are struggling with relationship issues such as difficulty in communicating effectively, helping them come to terms with the effects of an affair, or when someone feels that they have 'kept a lid on things' for too long and now feel the need to talk things through and process difficult feelings. I am trained in systemic, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural approaches to therapy and have a particular interest in using mindfulness techniques to help control and manage painful sexual problems and general feelings of anxiety.
I have completed specialist training in the treatment of sex addiction with one of the UKs leading experts in this field, Paula Hall, and have experience of working with people who are struggling with sexually out of control behaviours, such as excessive use of internet porn and multiple affairs. I also offer support to partners of sex addicts. I am a member of COSRT (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists) and work in compliance with their ethical framework and guidelines. I am also a member of ATSAC (Association for the Treatment of Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity).
