About me

Life can present us with multiple situations that can feel over whelming, for example grief, loss, work stress, relationship difficulties, menopause, transitions in life - you name it, they all can have an impact on how we view ourselves, our relationships and how to perceive a future - talking to someone safe can help process these experiences.

An essential part of my practice is offering a containing, supportive environment in which to explore and make links between emotional distress, your current situation and life experience. I believe in offering a regular, safe, non judgemental and supportive space to explore whatever experience you wish and working collaboratively to find a way forward for as long or as short a time as you need. All of these can help you to bring about changes to keep long term.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a psychodynamic therapist with over 20 years experience of working in the NHS with people experiencing all kinds of mental health issues, relationship, domestic violence, marginalisation, complexity of childhood experience (sexual, emotional, physical abuse, separation and loss) sexual identity issues, self harm, personality and Child and Adolescent Mental Health.

I have significant experience working for psychological services, as well as a private practice where I can offer open ended work with people who have varying difficulties, which may be long endured and complicated. I lead a service in an organisational setting, and I also offer private work with adolescents.

I also work with students and academics to help building resilience throughout stressful study and academic lifestyles.
