About me

I love my job as a therapist and coach. With 18 years of experience I offer compassionate therapy in person or online. As a director of Cariad MAMs I often work with mothers and couples, as well as parents - www.mamsuk.org. sarajanehunter.com

Cariad: Living as Love is my new book, taking us on that journey to learn to love ourselves despite our labels and stories. The latest Neuroscience research shows us how necessary it is to build upon our best experiences and reconnect to our true essential nature. We offer Cariad ACEs recovery programmes, that focus on your well-being, knowing that at the core of your being, you are whole and complete. Learning to thrive in our crazy world is the work for all of us today, you can join # one million mothers @ peace. We have created a supportive community and work across Wales and UK, running Cariad Well-being days and residential retreats.

I have supervision and keep up to date with CPD training, I am registered with ICF.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • BA hons (UWE), PGCE in Emotional Education (University of Derby) DipIIP (ASOW), Adlerian Training Certificate (ASOW), Certificate in Adlerian Family Counselling, ICF Accredited Coach (Neuro Leadership Institute), HeartMath trainer (UK)
  • EFT and Matrix Reimprinting

Working for over 18 years with mothers and families offering one to one counselling and group therapy, working with loss and trauma, releasing stuck energy.

With previous experience as a registered foster carer, mother and baby placements,  I offer a compassionate safe space to explore family issues.

Also for couples, we work together and explore the dynamics of relationships, as it is in close relationships that we really discover ourselves. To love another we must first learn to love ourselves.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

Further information

I attend regular CPD (continuing professional development) days; these add a variety of skills to my tool kit of support. With EFT (emotional freedom technique) and matrix reimprinting.

Mothers and bonding is my passion and if you feel love is lacking and close connections, having issues in relationships and family dynamics, my gentle way of working is ideal.

Movement matters and as an ecstatic dance teacher, I am very aware of how our body contains all of our stuck energy so if it is appropriate we will move and shake together!
