About me

I am a qualified psychotherapist providing one-to-one, couples and family therapy in Shoreditch (East London) or online.

We all face challenges in our lives, which at times, may feel overwhelming or too difficult to cope with. Whether you would like support for a specific issue, feel the need to make changes in your life or simply seek personal development, therapy offers a safe and confidential space for you to share your feelings and thoughts. Together we will look at your situation; I will help you explore and clarify your issues and experiences. I aim to create an environment where you can find your own solutions and direction.

Psychotherapy

Therapy is an opportunity to talk about concerns and issues that you might find difficult to share with people around you. It is a break from everyday life, a time to reflect upon what matters to you. Therapy helps us gain greater awareness. I believe that this new understanding enables us to make fresh choices and create a more meaningful life.

  • Anxiety, Depression, Feeling of Emptiness

Most of us experience anxiety and depression at times in our lives. The challenges of life can become overwhelming and leave us feeling low or stuck. A lack of direction and feelings of emptiness can be difficult to cope with. Life may seem meaningless. Therapy can help you make sense of what you are going through and help you live more purposefully.

  • Relationships

Relationships are an important part of our lives. Difficulties with intimacy or commitment, questions about desire or sexual problems can stand in the way of a satisfying relationship. Past relationships sometimes impact on our present ones. Creating romantic relationships or friendships may feel like an impossible step. Therapy will help you explore and understand how you relate to others and can facilitate your work towards more fulfilling relationships.

  • Work related difficulties

Issues with performance or creativity, burn out, stress, communication problems with colleagues and management, in need of a career change… Difficulties at work can become overwhelming and when unresolved often start to affect the rest of our lives. Therapy can help you address communication issues, help you manage stress or be a valuable support throughout a career change.

  • Gender and Sexuality

Whether you have concerns, issues or questions in relation to gender or sexuality, therapy is a safe and non-judgemental space where you can explore these dimensions of your life.

About the sessions

Sessions occur on a weekly basis and last 50 minutes.

The first session

In the first session we will look at your reasons for seeking therapy and what you would like to get from it. We will also discuss any questions and concerns you may have about the therapeutic process. The first session will be an opportunity for both of us to get to know each other and decide whether we would like to work together.

Following sessions

Sessions take the form of a conversation. They are a non-judgemental, safe and confidential space where you are free to speak about whatever you wish. My role, as a therapist, is to help you explore and manage whatever you are going through.

Number of sessions

I offer both short-term (6 sessions) and open-ended therapy. Depending on your needs we will discuss which option is best for you.

Languages

I offer therapy in English and in French.

Training, qualifications & experience

My Practice

I am currently practicing privately in Shoreditch. I have worked in various counselling settings including several drug and alcohol services, GP practices, private organisations and the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust where I provided therapy to patients with eating disorders. This has allowed me to meet and work with people facing a wide range of difficulties.

I am particularly experienced in supporting those struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem, sex and sexuality related issues, work place issues and addiction. I have a special interest in supporting people who are in the midst of a crisis of values and beliefs, who feel a lack of direction or who are going through a transition in their live, whether personal or professional.

My approach

My training is in Existential Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy. Existential therapy is an approach which is first and foremost philosophical; its focus is on making sense of life and human existence. I find this form of therapy effective in helping my clients live more meaningfully and purposefully. Each client’s situation is unique and I tailor my approach based on individual needs. This may involve drawing from other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic and systemic  approaches. Beyond the therapeutic modality I believe that the most important factor for effective therapy is the relationship between the therapist and the client. It is within an authentic, open and non-judgemental relationship that changes can occur.

Qualifications

I have completed the Doctorate in Counselling and Psychotherapy (DCPsych) from the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling / Middlesex University.
