About me
Hello and welcome
I provide a confidential face-to-face, online, phone, or email therapy environment.
I help clients understand how life has shaped them with the aim of moving forward with a better understanding and a different map of the future.
Therapy and counselling help people better cope with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, family issues, childhood issues, addiction recovery, ADHD overwhelm ( not a conclusive list)
Therapy also helps couples and groups better understand communication styles; gaining insight benefits relationships and helps with the healing and growth of a relationship.
I am a part of the travelling community and understand and have experienced the culture, diversity and discrimination people face.
I also provide an inclusive service and support the LGBTQ community.
Online therapy is via Zoom; links are sent ten minutes before the session to allow for a secure platform.
Phone therapy is via phone, Skype or WhatsApp; I will call clients at the session time; all you need to do is be in a confidential environment.
Email therapy is via a secure account to allow for confidentiality and has a similar presence to other therapies.
Email therapy is given the same focus and time of fifty minutes, and a therapeutic reply is given within 48 hours.
The email requires information of no more than 500 words individually to allow for a concise reply within the time limit.
Therapy is a time to write out your needs and the things you want to discuss and have support with, so it will be essential to set a specific time each week. I can support you with selecting the time to gain consistency.
Email therapy can take a few sessions to get into the therapy flow.
To allow you to gain the most from your sessions, it is a requirement that emails be sent weekly or fortnightly. To let you have a sense of presence, a confirmation e-mail or text will confirm I am present at the time of the session.
When an email cannot be composed, Chat via WhatsApp can prevent a missed session; this would include the same ground rules of a reply within 48 hours and the same presence of 50 minutes with a confirmation WhatsApp text.
Individual sessions are £60 for 50 minutes face-to-face, online, via phone or email.
Attending therapy can be like finding the pieces of a jigsaw you didn't know were lost.
What happens first?
There is a bit of paperwork, such as an intake form, which includes requesting doctor's details and any medication and consent to begin therapy.
Meeting online or by phone might benefit you, such as a cup of tea or water, and make yourself as comfortable as possible within your confidential environment where you will not be disturbed during therapy.
Other training, qualifications & experience
I have experience working with individuals and families of all backgrounds and life experiences during youth work years, supporting young people and parents with positive lifestyle changes.
I have also trained to a university degree level in Contemporary approaches within Cognitive Behavioural Therapy BSC Hon University of Derby July 2021. That means I can integrate specific other therapies alongside psychotherapy, such as:
CBT works well with anxiety or depression by encouraging clients to focus on the here and now. CBT works well with short-term solution-focused therapy.
Compassion-focused therapy (CFT) works well with low self-esteem, bringing compassion into life, and is a gentle approach to problems, allowing a better understanding of the self; this can help accept choices and behaviours in a less judgmental way. Being kind to yourself can have a profound impact on well-being.
Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) works well with recovery by accepting the individual you are with flaws and failures like any other human being instead of trying to be the person others want you to be.
ACT Therapy also supports individuality and inclusivity by encouraging the authentic self. ACT helps with accepting your unique identity to gain confidence and courage to be comfortable with who you are.
The person-centred approach puts you, the client, at the heart of the therapy.
Mindfulness incorporating a mindful approach can help to relieve symptoms of obsessive thoughts, overthinking, and anxiety and provide better work focus and stress reduction when used as a part of a specific programme, including homework meditations and journal reflection.
I provide four weeks of mindfulness meditation for groups with a minimum of 4 in attendance
I provide a 5minute snapshot of the mindfulness meditations on my website

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
