About me

Hello, welcome my name is Sandra 

I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British  Association of Counselling and psychotherapy). I offer face to face counselling, individual as well as couples.   

I offer expert help for Anxiety related disorders, including panic attacks, and depression. I am able to deliver a broad range of tried and tested therapeutic techniques to alleviate your anxiety, which can be triggered by work, health, relationships, loss and bereavement to name a few.  I use various therapies, CBT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Person centered  counselling, depending on your individual needs. In addition I have extra training for the Rewind Technique, this is useful for trauma and recurring bad memories. EFT. A tapping technique also helps to reduce stress and intrusive thoughts.  Hypnotherapy, another tool to help with various issues including confidence and low self

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Sessions from 40  

It is advisable to budget for at least six sessions if you can., more can be added if required. I am aware  that it can be costly and have tried to  keep the cost to a minimum.


The sessions are approximately one hour.

Counselling usually takes place on a weekly basis however this can be worked around clients to suit individual circumstances.

Payment in cash Is made at the beginning of each of the counselling session.
Cancellations twenty-four hour notice is required

My homely counselling room is designed for you in mind with a calming, relaxing atmosphere which can help to reduce stress and anxiety.

My room in Duke street has parking outside that costs £1 per hour.

Alternately Standhope Road is situated at the top of Duke Street and is free parking for two hours.
