About me

Sometimes it’s hard to know where to turn, life can feel very overwhelming and exhausting. It can be lots of wee things or a big life change and sometimes we just can’t put our finger on it. What we do know is that we’ve had enough, we want to enjoy life and relationships and bring more lightness and laughter into the everyday. Maybe work is getting us down or family and relationships. How good would it be to feel more at ease?

Sandra is an experienced Person Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist. She has been in private practice for over 25 years and in that time has worked with a wide range of people in a variety of settings. She works creatively with both adults and children, individually and in groups. She offers a safe environment and works with warmth and humour to support clients to explore whatever is troubling for them

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a diploma in Person Centred Groupwork, a diploma in Person Centred Counselling, and Advanced Diploma in Psychodrama Psychotherapy and a post grad Certificate in Supervision. I'm a UKCP accredited senior trainer and I teach on both the Msc in Person Centred Psychotherapy at the Sherwood Institute and on the Advanced Diploma in Psychodrama Psychotherapy.

I provide clinical supervision for students and counsellors and have considerable experience of working with children and young people, both in schools and within their families.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
