About me

I am a fully qualified integrative Counsellor offering counselling to individuals in the Bristol area. I have experience of working with anxiety, depression, low confidence/self esteem, relationship issues, bereavement and domestic abuse.

Through offering a safe, confidential space and building a trusting relationship, I will work with you to help you gain an understanding of yourself and how you experience life, allowing you to gain self awareness and clarity. Counselling gives you a chance to pause from the chaotic world, reflect and be heard. This may be a rare opportunity and can help gain insight and compassion for yourself.

I believe each individual has the ability to change and grow towards their potential. My aim is to help you through insight, self awareness and understanding make the changes you want to see.

Where do the sessions take place?

I offer counselling to individuals either online via zoom, in my office in St Anne’s BS4 or by telephone.

Some of the issues I can help you with:

  • relationship issues
  • trauma
  • menopause
  • anxiety and depression
  • loss/bereavement
  • dealing with difficult feelings and emotions
  • domestic abuse.

I believe the quality of the relationship is an important aspect of counselling. By providing the core conditions of empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence in a safe, confidential space allows the client to explore their issues and challenges at their own pace.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Integrative counsellor working from a personcentred core, enabling me to draw from a variety of humanistic approaches including CBT and Transactional Analysis. This allows me to work in a way that's suits your specific needs.

  • certificate in Counselling skills.
  • FDSC in Counselling.
  • a wide range of experience of working with domestic abuse.

As part of my training I have had my own personal therapy, so can understand how it is to enter into counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
