About me

Experienced in counselling adults, children/adolescents, I am an integrative therapist able to tailor my approach to your individual needs. Working with a wide range of issues including, anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse.   I draw from various theoretical approaches such as Psychodynamic, Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I am passionate about my work, and I believe the counselling relationship to be essential in aiding you in your difficulties, so choosing the right therapist for you is important.

You can choose just an initial consultation for you to decide if I am the right therapist for you, with no obligation to continue. I am approachable and down to earth; I offer a safe environment where you are valued, listened to and accepted without judgement. We will explore your difficulties within a time frame that work's for you, short or long term, and you can change this at any time.

The therapy I provide will be individual to you, not just theoretically; also in the way we work together. We can achieve this by using talking therapy and/or creative therapy, it is completely your choice. Whichever you choose I work collaboratively where together we will explore your goals and discuss how best to help you, you will not be alone. Exploration of the difficulties you are facing can encourage new perspectives, which enable you to move forward with increased insight, which can help promote acceptance and/or change.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
